My mother is a teacher in the school and her present principal is retiring next week. There is gonna be a huge farewell party n all. My mom is a special favourite of hers and my mom wants to do something special for her- Like give a good speech. And she also cant think of a good gift. Any ideas….??? Thanks

Have each of the teachers give her a photo of themselves and a note to the principal. She can compile these into a simple scrapbook that the principal will enjoy viewing over and over again.

Both of my parents retired from teaching for 29 and 34 years, respectively, and I’m throwing them a retirement party. What is the best way to word the invitation?

Don’t add how long they worked in the invite. save that for any speaches made at the party.

A friend of mine works for a doctor who is leaving for another job. He has been a real pain lately. My friend, who is his secretary, was going to throw him a retirement party at her house. However, based on his behaviior lately, she really doesn’t want to. Her co-workers are telling her not to, that they’ll throw some kind of party for him at work. However, yesterday the doctor texted my friend and asked her to have the party at her house anyway. My friend said she was cash strapped, but the doctor told her he’d pay the expenses. My friend doesn’t know what to do. Any advice?

Tell her to bite the bullet on this one and throw the party at her house. Have her ask the doctor to write a check ASAP made out to the grocery store / party store for the amount she plans to spend. (Have an itemized list ready for the doctor. No crazy spending). When she gets the check, she can go ahead with the party invitations & spending.

Regarding his behavior. Friendships are like a bank account. You deposit good times into the “Friendship Account” and rarely make a withdrawl (argument) from the account. Has this guy put in enough good times that you can overlook some of his recent bad behavior?

Some people accept bumps in the road of friendship. Others can be friends for 10 years and suddenly walk away because of one bad week. Which type is your friend?
