I say you should wear some pants and a long sleeve shirt and wear something else the next day that would let some on notice you,but not at a retirement community.lol.

Nice slacks with a interesting top, not too revealing. This answer comes from a Myrtle Beach country club semi-retiree. We call it dressy casual, slightly chic.

Dressy casual, definitely. Think khakis or other nice slacks, OR a long, plain skirt (NOT denim). Pair pants with a solid color polo shirt, and take a nice sweater or light jacket along for the ride. With a skirt, I’d go with maybe a cami/cardigan duo, and if necessary, a nice jacket. Low or no heels. Accessorize conservatively: a single string of pearls or single chain with pendant, small earrings that dangle ever-so-slightly OR a very sparkly pair of studs, assuming your hair goes partially (or all) up. Easy on the makeup; you want to look polished, but not shellacked (sp).
Alternative to low or no heels: nice pumps with black or white stretch pants….. you can figure it out :-) Have fun!
